HELP THE NHS TO REDUCE MEDICINE WASTE Medicine wastage is a serious problem for the NHS. Some patients or their carers continue to request more repeat medicines than needed and this can lead to stockpiling at home. Not only does it waste medication but it puts a huge financial burden on an already burdened NHS. WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP ·Only order the medications you need - check what medicines you still have at home before re-ordering ·Tell your GP if you have stopped taking any of your medications ·Attend your medication reviews on a regular basis - this helps your GP to keep your medications up to date. If you would like more information on medicine wastage please go to www.medicinewaste.com Patient Participation Group (PPG) The surgery is very pleased to announce the formation of the Massingham and Docking Patient Participation Group (PPG). The PPG is run, as part of a Government initiative, by a small committee of patients and practice staff and the aim of this group is to encourage a more positive relationship between the patients and the surgery, and to work together with the surgeries on behalf of patients to help improve services and promote good health. The members of the PPG are as follows: Chair - Mr Graham Coombes Secretary - Miss Clare Hill Treasurer - Mrs Shirley Wadeson Some of the PPG involvement will include fundraising activities. At present, 800 books have been donated between both the surgeries. You are invited to take any books that might interest you and make a small donation in the pots provided. So, happy reading! For more information, please leave your contact details at reception at either surgery, and a member of the PPG will get back to you, or alternatively email them at dockingandmassinghamppg@hotmail.co.uk ......................................................................
The new address for Docking surgery is: Bayfield Surgery, High Street, Docking, King's Lynn, Norfolk, PE31 8NH.
